FAQ
Q: What is behind the name: Legacy LA Speaking Agency?
A: Life is all about legacy. Legacy is about making a significant difference in the world and leaving something behind that is worthy of being remembered. All too often, in a world that is so caught with the here and now, it is easy to lose focus on what is important and what are the consequences of one’s actions. Therefore, the Legacy LA Speaking Agency seeks to promote the general theme of investing one’s life towards making a positive difference in their family, neighborhood, and profession…among other things.
If one lives in Los Angeles, they will inevitably witness both positive and negative legacies play themselves out. Unfortunately, many communities have been enveloped by a ghetto mentality. A ghetto mentality is best illustrated by the prevalent worldview which states, "if one cannot see it, then it must not exist or be possible." This plays itself out everyday through the following example: if a young man grows up in a neighborhood where the only visible means of obtaining success is by becoming a drug dealer or a gang member, then this young man may feel that he is locked into a system and that these are his only options. Therefore, Legacy LA seeks to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem, by providing another model or example of what success is. By choosing to present Dr. Gabe Veas as our first speaker, Legacy LA set a high precedent for the future speakers that will follow.
Q: What is the cost of bringing a speaker to an event?
A: The Legacy LA Speaking Agency offers competitive rates to both profit and non-profit organizations. Our speakers have a heart and the legacy of giving back to the community. Their motivation is not to deplete your annual budget like other speakers. Therefore, depending upon travel costs and the type of activity, Legacy LA welcomes initial proposals from organizations that would him to share his story and provide another vision of the future.
